IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
The Truth About Bleach
- Not 100% effective in killing HIV in a syringe
- Does not kill Hepatitis C. in a syringe
- Household bleach is only effective up to one year after it has been opened
- Bleach should only be used as a last option, if you do not have access to new needles
- Talk to a needle exchange worker if you have any questions about bleach use
- Look Sharp No Sharps is ACNBA's harm reduction program that
encourages North Bay area residents to call us when they've found a
discarded syringe or syringes in their community.
- Upon receiving a call members of the Look Sharp No Sharps team
will arrive on scene and safely remove the syringes.
- Calls can be made to 497-3560 from 8:00 - 4:00 Monday to
Thursday, 8:00 - 3:30 Friday and 499-6827 after hours.
- All calls are kept confidential.
- The Look Sharp No Sharps program is generously supported by the
Rotary Club of Nipissing and the North Bay Police Service.
