To assist and support all persons infected or affected by HIV/AIDS and to limit the spread of the virus through education and outreach strategies.

Who we are:
The AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area (ACNBA) is a community based, non-profit organization serving people in North Bay and area. Men, women and children in our areas are infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. It is a fact of life.

What We Offer

Confidential Support Services

  • supportive counselling
  • inter-agency referrals, liaison and advocacy
  • information on medical treatments and other therapies
  • employment, income and benefit support
  • social opportunities

Education
Presentations are available to interested groups about HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, testing information, safer sex, harm reduction and related issues.

  • free condoms, lubricant and dental dams
  • needle distribution and disposal services
  • videos and books
  • pamphlets and posters
  • computer/internet access
  • meeting rooms

Volunteering
We are always looking for committed volunteers to assist with office work, education, and fundraising. Volunteers receive ongoing training, encouragement and support.

Becoming a member
Members receive FACES newsletter and an invitation to our Annual General Meeting.

I Care, Do You?
There are people in North Bay and area who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. HIV continues to infect people in Canada. Many of us already know what it is like to live with AIDS. AIDS is a fact of life and we all must live with its presence. Learning about HIV now will enable us to deal more effectively with the reality of HIV in our community.
